Nandini Gulati, a Leading Health Coach, on Self-Healing and Overcoming Chronic Illness Naturally

healing and cure

In today’s fast-paced world, where stress, chronic ailments, and emotional turmoil are common, true healing goes beyond prescriptions and quick fixes. Holistic wellness is about reconnecting with the body’s innate ability to heal and cure, addressing not just physical symptoms but also the emotional and mental patterns that shape our health.

Nandini Gulati’s journey is a testament to this philosophy. From battling rheumatoid arthritis and panic attacks to embracing a holistic approach rooted in diet, emotional release, and mindset transformation, she has emerged as both a coach and a guide for others seeking natural healing and cure. Through her coaching and masterclasses, she empowers individuals to reclaim their health by tuning into their bodies, releasing stored trauma, and shifting their mindset toward self-restoration.

In this conversation, Nandini shares insights on the profound mind-body connection, the role of an anti-inflammatory diet, and the power of belief and mindset in the process of healing. Whether you’re on your own wellness journey or simply curious about holistic health, this interview offers valuable wisdom on embracing healing as a lifelong practice.

What inspired you to transition into holistic health coaching, and how have your personal experiences shaped your approach?

My journey into holistic health coaching was deeply personal. In 2008, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis after experiencing pain since 2007. Initially, I sought allopathic treatment and was prescribed medication, but the severe side effects and the prospect of lifelong dependence led me to explore alternative methods of healing and cure. Over 14 years, I experimented with various therapies, diets, cleanses, supplements, and mind-body practices. After six unsuccessful attempts to discontinue my medications, I finally succeeded on the seventh try. This experience showed me that true healing and cure is often a layered process—physical, emotional, and mental.

Your methodology emphasizes a combination of natural diet, emotional release, and a healing mindset. How did you develop this triad, and why do you believe it’s effective?

My personal journey underscored the need to address health on multiple levels. Initially, dietary changes brought significant improvements. However, in 2023, I started experiencing panic attacks, which pushed me to explore emotional release. Choosing not to rely on medications, I turned to introspection and meditation, uncovering suppressed emotions and childhood traumas. As a trained psychotherapist, I applied various techniques and dedicated six months to intensive self-work. This experience reinforced the necessity of integrating a natural diet, emotional release, and a mindset conducive to healing and cure—the core components of my methodology.

You advocate for an anti-inflammatory diet. Could you elaborate on its significance in healing chronic ailments?

From a holistic perspective, all chronic diseases stem from acidosis, toxicity, dehydration, and unresolved emotional pain and mental stress. Acidic diets contribute to inflammation, while anti-inflammatory diets are alkalizing, hydrating, and detoxifying. Regardless of the medical diagnosis—whether thyroid issues, diabetes, high blood pressure, PCOS, autoimmune disorders, or joint pain—the root causes remain the same. Modern medicine often labels symptoms without addressing these underlying imbalances.

By shifting to hydrating, alkalizing foods and detoxifying the body, people can break free from chronic illnesses. An anti-inflammatory diet isn’t about temporary fixes; it’s about eliminating triggers that harm the body and cultivating eating habits that ensure long term healing and cure.

Key elements include:

  • Removing dairy, sugar, gluten, and processed foods that cause inflammation
  • Incorporating more, living, natural plant-based foods, like fresh fruits and salads rich in hydration, alkalinity, fiber, and nutrients to support gut health and detoxification
  • It is extremely important to switch to a fresh fruit and vegetable–centred diet instead of one based on acidic and dehydrated foods like grains, lentils, and dairy

I’ve personally experienced a drastic reduction in symptoms through dietary changes and have seen similar results in others. But to achieve full wellness, one must also address emotional and mental aspects.

How do suppressed emotions and past traumas impact physical health, and what strategies do you recommend for effective emotional release?

Suppressed emotions get buried in the subconscious, trapping energy that could otherwise be used to heal and cure. This leads to chronic stress responses, triggering negative emotional states like anger, sadness, and guilt, which acidify the body. Elevated cortisol and other stress hormones disrupt balance, further contributing to disease.

Emotional release is essential, but it requires conscious effort. I focus on:

  • Identifying, acknowledging, and releasing stored emotions instead of suppressing them
  • Using a combination of parasympathetic techniques to release trapped trauma from the nervous system and uncovering deeper emotional root causes
  • Drawing on Jungian principles of shadow work, inner child healing, and reparenting
  • A unique journaling process I developed called “Emoscribe,” which has helped many release the knotted emotional energy of their painful past

When emotional energy is cleared, it opens the door to deep healing and cure.

In your experience, what role does mindset play in the healing process, and how can individuals cultivate a mindset conducive to self-healing?

Mindset is one of the most powerful tools in healing. Studies on the placebo effect prove that belief alone can trigger real physiological changes. Unfortunately, modern medicine conditions us to fear our bodies, making us believe we are fragile and constantly at risk. Regaining faith in the body’s ability to heal and cure is essential.

This is a gradual process—people need to see results through practice, whether through dietary changes, emotional release, or lifestyle shifts. That’s why my Empower Health Tribe membership programs focus on rebuilding trust in the body and nature’s power to heal and cure.

Mindset is EVERYTHING in healing. The body takes cues from the mind, and if we constantly operate from low energy frequencies such as fear and doubt, healing becomes difficult.

To cultivate a mindset that supports healing and cure:

  • Shift from fear to trust—believe in your body’s capacity to restore itself
  • Challenge limiting beliefs—reframe “I’m stuck with a chronic disease” or “I am suffering from…” into “I’m healing from …”
  • Reprogram subconscious patterns using tools like self-awareness, journaling, affirmations, and visualization and prevent it from slipping back into the old pattern
  • Surround yourself with a supportive, like-minded community

What motivated you to establish the Empower Health Tribe, and how does this community support individuals on their self-healing journeys?

I’ve been a health coach since 2011, but after experiencing profound emotional healing myself, I wanted to incorporate that dimension into my coaching. In late 2023 and early 2024, I developed a new framework called the Empower Health Tribe—an exclusive platform for people to activate their inner self-healer. I created this community to help people heal and cure through shared experiences, guidance, and support.

This community helps individuals adopt nourishing diets, stay consistent with wellness routines, process emotions, recognize subconscious patterns, and rebuild trust in their bodies. It also provides resources to help members understand their symptoms and navigate their healing journey with more clarity and confidence.

Conclusion? True healing is an ongoing journey that requires alignment between the body, mind, and emotions. As Nandini Gulati’s story illustrates, natural recovery is not about finding a quick fix but about creating an internal environment where healing can thrive. By nourishing the body with the right foods, releasing emotional burdens, and shifting the mindset from fear to trust, anyone can unlock their self-healing potential.

Holistic wellness isn’t just a concept—it’s a way of life. The more we listen to our bodies and honour our natural healing abilities, the more empowered we become in our own health journeys with innate ability to heal and cure.
